Expert moving tips #1: the essentials bag/box

Let's face it moving can be tiring no matter how you slice it. Even the most motivated non-procrastinator will be tempted to plop into the nearest chair and just relax when the last box is moved in. There's no two ways around it, your place will be somewhat cluttered until you unpack your boxes and get all your stuff put away. But there is an easy way to prevent your new home from looking like its just been ransacked by robbers as a result of digging around for things until this happens.......enter the Essentials Bag or Box!
Every person relies on the belief that they will remember exactly where they put things. No biggie right.....Classic mistake! Two great reasons for doing this box:
1. With all the little details you need to remember it's easy to forget where you put those everyday things.
2. We rarely pack our daily essentials in one box. So it's best to avoid having to open up three different boxes just so you can get ready for bed or for work.

Setting up the box is simple, just gather whatever you may need to live for about a day or two.
If you have multiple people in your family use a larger box and place everyone's belongings in separate bags inside the box. If it is just yourself or you don't have that much stuff use an overnight bag. You can even use a suitcase as well. Below are some examples of items you might want to pack:
  • Everyday electronics and their plugs. Avoid the dreaded end-of-the-world feeling when your phone battery is on 10% and you can't find your charger!
  • Toothbrush and Toothpaste
  • Towels and Wash clothes
  • Body wash, Shampoo and Conditioner
  • A few outfits (think casual everyday, work, school and sleep)
  • Any medications
  • General toiletries: perfume, shaving items, make up, deodorant, etc.
  •  Kitchen Items: Paper plates, plastic cutlery, one or two pots if you cook everyday.

And the list goes on and on....you get the picture? Just one thing to note: Since there will be different kinds of items packed in this box do not put anything fragile or breakable here to prevent damage.

Share with us.....What are some other essentials you can think of? And if you have moved before what are some things you had to go digging for at your new house?

You rarely pack your household items daily in boxes so this job must be very daunting for you to do . That's why everyone take help from professional movers to pack and move their items through them. They work on daily basis that's why they are called for moving purposes.

Well i have great experience of moving items and never placed any fragile item with other hard items. Fragile one will be placed in a bag and in separate box so that it will not collide with other items and cause damage. You have shared good points and i appreciate your sayings.
